Refusing the signature path to the primary
When filing for office us candidates are given the choices of Caucus Convention only (which I picked), the signature route, or the combination of the dual path. Well being March 10th, with the GOP convention April 25th but signatures would have to be in two weeks prior to, there is no time to gather all the 7’000 verified signatures to automatically qualify for the June Primary ballot. With that said, there is also a good reason.
Since I was a State Delegate in 2022 who was elected by my neighborhood at caucus night, I know the sacrifice that state delegates have of vetting candidate on multiple issues from State and National issues that US Senate and US House members need and have to have. Having done that I personally believe that is the correct way to earn a place on the ballot by meeting and talking with delegates to get on the primary ballot or general ballot in November.
Let’s take about the cost of the signature route for a minute. If you go through a company like Gather Inc which is a signature gathering organization, for 7.000 verified signature it would cost approximately $21,000 or $3 per signature if not more. It is a money grab and ill spent money for a campaign for a guaranteed spot on the primary ballot but still not a guaranteed win to the general. Therefor I would rather spend my efforts in the good path by the fundamental Grassroots ways of meeting and talking with our constituents in our distract 4!
